Seeing Gil Scott-Heron live in Oslo last summer was a mixed experience. On the one hand it started off magically with him telling some very funny stories from his time in a local crackhouse, and then he sat down by his Fender Rhodes and performed a handful of magical songs. After a short while a awful band joined him on stage, where among other things a female keyboard-player was given 10 minutes alone on stage to perform some ugly-ass fusion from her solorecord.
